Inherited Bodies begins with three naked bodies: the artist’s own, her mother’s, and her grandmother’s, mapping the places where lineage connects. The work grows from a desire to understand why struggles with body image, eating, and consumption have followed the artist throughout her life, and how these patterns are shaped by cultural systems quietly passed from one generation of women to the next.
The installation asks what might happen if bodies were understood as a living geometry rather than sites of judgment. Latex yellows and hardens; cyanotypes slowly lose their image with exposure to sunlight, rendering each print ephemeral. Over time, the works decay, and from that decay they are recycled and reimagined again.
